A downloadable game

D.I.D. (Duty Interface Device ) is a game that explores the haunting world of Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). Players take on the role of a humanoid protagonist struggling with DID, navigating a sinister environment filled with mysterious tasks and lurking shadows.

As the protagonist, players must confront their fractured psyche, which manifests as four distinct alters. Each alter possesses unique abilities and traits that can be harnessed to overcome obstacles and complete tasks.  For each task, the player needs to choose the alter with the right proficiency to do that task. However, a malevolent force known as "The Shadow" seeks to manipulate the alters, rendering them inactive and hindering progress.

DISCLAIMER:

Dissociative identity disorder (DID), formerly known as multiple personality disorder is a diagnosis surrounded by a lot of harmful stereotypes and mysticism. As with everything surrounding mental health, we encourage empathy and respect towards the people that live with DID as we only look into exploring an interesting gaming experience.

Really cool concept, I like the core mechanic whereby you try to figure out which is task is best for what alter only for it to be potentially disrupted.

Maybe im just bad the game but I didn't get far enough to see a point beyond that core game loop. Some noteworthy bugs in the minigames, or the "hacked" alter portraits not actually changing anything is a bit of a letdown.

The aesthetics are powerful. I appreciate the dog and the messed up gas mask looking mfer as "vibes" to consider with the tasks. All of the portraits are fantastic and moody. Audio was minimal but fitting.

I wish the core loop was more technically polished, and have an endstate, but I can definitely say I enjoyed the atmosphere.
